How can youth-led research improve setting-level structures, processes, and practices in secondary schools? This project will examine the implementation of youth research interventions in 20 ethnically diverse, urban secondary schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. The investigator will examine whether prevention programs adapted by youth are more effective than the original programs; whether prevention programs are more effective for students who help determine the targeted outcomes of the program; and what the effects of serving as a "student researcher" are. This study aims to understand how youth research can influence school settings in an effective and sustainable way, and to guide future youth research interventions.
